All Day

Beer lovers and brewery aficionados rejoice, as the annual Spokane Craft Beer Week is here yet again.

Although the February 25th single-day Washington Beer Open House has passed, two Spokane breweries are launching a special beer event that extends through April and showcases a new series of drinks, setting the tone for a great Spokane Craft Beer Week this May.

From May 16 to the 22, more than 50 beer-related events and activities will be enjoyed throughout Spokane. Competing breweries will be collaborating, tasting competitions will be had, beer dinners will be enjoyed, and plenty of beer will be consumed.

Every Thursday, from now until April, a variety of new, specialty, small-batch beers are being released. Each beer will be brewed using a locally grown distinctive grain malted right here in Spokane Valley. In addition to enjoying the new beers, each drink will be paired with bread from Spokane’s Culture Breads.

And if you’re one of the lucky customers who sample at least six of the newly released beers, you’ll earn a souvenir pint glass and will be eligible to vote for your favorite to be showcased at the Spokane Craft Beer Week. If the beer you voted for wins, you’ll receive an entire batch!

It’s important to keep in mind throughout the Spokane Craft Beer Week, as well as all the other beer-related events (and any day for that matter), that drinking responsibly is most important. Sadly, every two minutes in the U.S. a person is injured or worse in a drunk driving crash. So it’s your responsibility to drink responsibly and keep you and everyone else out on the roads safe.

According to The Spokesman-Review, you can send all beer-related questions, comments, and updates to senior correspondent, Rick Bonino.
