Started by the First Baptist Church Leesburg in 1985, the Christian Center is a non-profit organization and has churches, civic groups, businesses, foundations, and individuals who meet the needs of their community and share faith in Jesus Christ.
There are eight ministries at the Christian Center:
Pregnancy and Family Care Center: provides support to those facing challenges pertaining to pregnancy, parenting, and similar issues. They have an Earn While You Learn program to provide clothing and baby essentials, while also teaching them life skills and Biblical truths to guide them.
Children’s Shelter: Children from various backgrounds are cared for and guided on the path of Christ.
Samaritan Inn: Homeless families live here to be trained and encouraged to lead meaningful lives.
Men’s Residence: Men who struggle with substance and alcohol abuse are guided through this residential program to overcome their addictions.
Women’s Care Center: Ladies leading a distressful life to enroll in the program here to steer their lives in the right direction.
Benevolence Center: This large pantry provides a week’s worth of food to 65 families daily.
Fresh Start Job Program: Job seekers are helped to secure gainful employment.
Community Medical Center: This center caters to the medical needs of those who can’t afford health insurance or aren’t eligible for government healthcare assistance.
The Lord provides in different ways and the volunteers at the Christian center help in providing through the Lord.
