The first thing that you will need to do is remove any rocks and other large debris from the hole. Debris will make it difficult to have a smooth base. Be sure to use a shovel and safety equipment so that you do not get hurt during this process. If the rocks are too big you may need extra help to get them out.
Once the hole is clear of debris you can get started filling it back up. It’s best to use crushed stone to fill the hole. As you add the crushed stone be sure to compact it down flat. Fill the hole to the top.
The top of the pothole will be filled with new asphalt. Before you start the project be sure that you have access to asphalt. Once the asphalt is down do not drive over it for a couple of days and the job is complete.
